Suicide Jumper

Here's what happens when Improv Everywhere finds a four-foot tall ledge in Midtown Manhattan and decided to put a suicide jumper on it. A police officer, fireman, and the man’s wife and co-worker all arrive on the scene to talk him down. This is a newly remastered video from the project they did in 2005.

Hilarious.

Mercy Ships

If you watched 60 Minutes last week you saw a very moving segment about some very special people helping the very poor along the western coast of Africa. Their vessel is the Mercy Ship...sure would be nice if the local TV news would cover stories like this.

Have A Question About Your Credit Score?

Is Your Credit Report Wrong?

According to this week's report on 60 Minutes, there are 40 million credit report mistakes out there! That's a pretty sick number considering that 200 million Americans have been 'scored'. That's a 20% error rate!

If you have any questions about what a credit score entails, check out today's 'Cool Site of the Day' and excellent resource, CreditScoreResource.com

Creditscoreresource
As for the 60 Minutes report, millions of Americans got a wake-up call about their flawed credit scores.

Coincdentally, I was recently hired by a company to help them with their Internet marketing. What do they do? They provide free credit reports to consumers.

Obscure? Random? Necessary? These were the thoughts going through my head when I was first approached to work for them.

After just a few weeks of working for FreeCreditScoreInc.com, I realized the importance -- no, the absolute necessity -- of checking to make sure your credit score has no mistakes. Or, if there's something from your reckless financial past that could impede you from getting a much needed loan, you should definitely know about it.

Here's what I learned: by law, everyone can order a free credit report once a year. These reports will show the credit scores generated on your behalf by the big 3 credit reporting agencies: Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.

Free Credit ScoreAs to the 40 million mistakes reported by 60 Minutes (link to video below), this is NOT good if you think that you will be applying for a loan in the near future. Car loan? Home loan? General credit card? Retail store credit card? You can be denied any one of these if your credit score has been botched (just watch the 60 Minutes videos for a couple of horror stories).

My advice is to order a free credit report from FreeCreditScoreInc.com today...it just may blow your mind.

Is this not the best comedy on TV right now? THIS is from last night; the earlier video that I shared on Facebook was from several months ago. It just keeps getting better with each 'slow jam'.

My sister turned me onto Brooklyn Supper. Nice vibe. Great recipes. As they say:

"Brooklyn Supper is a place for seasonal recipes, everyday food ideas, the Brooklyn food scene, rooftop gardening, and farmer’s market resources. There is a great food community in Brooklyn, and throughout the US, and we are happy to be a small part of it."

Create music with a biological twist

This is kind of mesmerizing.

Seaquence is an experiment in musical composition. Adopting a biological metaphor, you can create and combine musical lifeforms resulting in an organic, dynamic composition.

Get Poached by Poachee

At first, I loved this site simply because of its clean and simple design. Clear message.  But my concern was that it was a great job hunting tool overseas. So I asked the owner and he informed me that Poachee.com has a strong focus in the US market and is very well received by the first Americans to use it.

Poachee.com helps recruiters to poach urgently needed workers and passive jobseekers to get a better job!

In honor of my friend's wife, Julie, who passed away on 12/29/12, I am featuring the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research. On this day, a memorial service is being held in Julie's name.

My friend asks the following:
"Please give generously in Julie’s memory to the Marsha Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research, so that our daughters and granddaughters can enjoy the long lives that they deserve."

Please do so.

Please visit today's site and rate it here on 1/9. After 1/9, find it in the Cool Site of the Day archive.
